The second half of our school year at Fredericksburg Academy
started on Monday, January 4th, 2010. Our first two artists have finished their projects and time with our kids.
Our 2009-2010 school year includes the following artists from LibertyTown Arts Workshop
in downtown Fredericksburg to visit our Lower School art program.
Each visiting artist presents four sessions with all of our fourth and fifth graders over a two-month period. We will introduce and experiment with each artist's
specialty and style.
Andrea Shreve-Taylor, mosaic artist- September/October 2009 mosaic glass and tile concrete stepping stones
Hsi-Mei Yates, Chinese brush painter- November/December 2009 Chinese ink brush painting on rice paper - Pandas, Poinsettias, and Koi
Scarlett Suhy-Pons, handbuilding clay artist- January/ February 2010 Native American glazing on clay bowls for the Empty Bowl Fundraiser for RCDV, Votives with earthenware clay
* parents may buy Empty Bowl fundraiser tickets for 1/31/10 through Mrs. Reynolds or LibertyTown.
